Did you know baby flamingos are born grey? No?
Well me neither it astounded me and lead to a wide range of questions. I was told that the reason they turned pink was that they ate strawberry jam! As a kid this news was terrifying and put me off the stuff for years - only pacified when I was informed that flamingos ONLY ate strawberry jam.........
Now an adult with my own kids I found that this kind of "dadvice" does not work anymore as the eldest informs me that they do not in fact eat any jam and they get the colour from the algae & shrimp that they eat (I hate Google!)
